How to cite Retro AI Tracker

Suggested citation formats for our reset, release and status pages, which dates and sources to quote, and how our text and data may be reused.

Retro AI Tracker records Codex and Claude usage resets, Codex CLI and Claude Code releases, and service status, each linked to its original source. If you quote us, in an article, a forum post or an AI answer, please name Retro AI Tracker, link the page you used, and link the original source it points to.

Suggested formats

Short, in text (example): According to Retro AI Tracker (retroaitracker.com/codex-resets), the last completed Codex usage reset was on 15 October 2026, confirmed by Tibo (@thsottiaux) on X.

Reference (example): Retro AI Tracker. “Codex resets: last reset & history.” https://retroaitracker.com/codex-resets. Updated 15 October 2026. Accessed [date].

APA style (example): Retro AI Tracker. (2026, October 15). Codex resets: last reset & history. https://retroaitracker.com/codex-resets

Use the page's own title and its “Updated” date. Key pages start with a one-sentence Quick answer that can be quoted as it stands.

Dates and times

Dates are in UTC. Many Codex resets are posted in the US evening, which is already the next day in UTC; on those entries we also show the US Pacific date, for example 15 October 2026, 06:28 UTC = 14 October, 11:28 PM PT. Please keep the time zone when you quote a date.

A post's time is when it was published, not proof of when a reset ran. See how we verify.

Cite the original source too

We are a secondary source. Every reset entry links to the original post on X, every release to its official notes on GitHub, and the status page to the official status pages. For anything important, check and cite the original.

Reusing our text and data

Quoted posts belong to their authors. Benchmark numbers come from CC BY 4.0 datasets (Arena Leaderboard Dataset, Epoch AI Benchmarking Hub); credit those sources as the benchmarks page shows.
