Meta adds voice conversations and expressive avatars to the Muse app

Muse app users in the US can now talk to their Muse by voice and see an animated avatar that reacts during the conversation. The rollout covers mobile, web and Mac, and voice on AI Glasses and Muse Charm is coming soon.

On 5 November 2026 Meta began rolling out voice conversations and expressive avatars in its Muse app. Real-time conversations with Muse were first previewed at Connect 2026 and are now arriving in the app on mobile, web and Mac. A conversation starts from the phone icon in the top-right corner.

Meta presents voice as a way to think out loud, for example when brainstorming, planning a trip or rehearsing a job interview or presentation, and as a way to hand Muse tasks while walking or with busy hands, which it then handles in the background during the conversation. Users can interrupt Muse mid-answer; Meta credits its Muse Realtime Voice and Muse Realtime Avatar technology for the real-time replies.

The avatar shows expressions and gestures that follow the tone of the conversation and reacts while the user is speaking. It can be left out for voice only, shown next to the conversation or opened full screen. Meta says there are hundreds of voices to choose from, and the voice can be changed at any time.

The rollout starts in the US. Meta says voice conversations with Muse will come to AI Glasses and Muse Charm soon, without giving a date.
