- This page shows what OpenAI's official status page reports for Codex on the web, the Codex API, the Codex CLI and the VS Code extension, read at most once a minute. If a part shows Unknown, the official page could not be read; open it directly.
- Why does Codex not work for me when the status says up?
- Status pages list incidents the provider has confirmed, and new incidents can take a few minutes to appear. A problem with your network, browser, app version or account will not show there. Try another network or the web version, and check whether you have hit a usage limit.
- Where is the official Codex status page?
- OpenAI publishes it at status.openai.com, including incident history. This page reads the same data and links to it.
- Is a Codex usage limit the same as an outage?
- No. When you run out of your 5-hour or weekly allowance, Codex works again when your limit resets, while an outage affects everyone. OpenAI also sometimes resets everyone's limits early; our tracker logs each of those resets.
