Claude week in review: Haiku 5.5, API credits, Dashboards & Motion, dynamic workflows

Anthropic had a dense week. Here's the short version, in order, with a link to the official source for each item.

Models and pricing

• Claude Haiku 5.5 (7 Oct): a new small model with a 1M-token context window that Anthropic says costs around 75% less to run than Haiku 4.5. See our separate Haiku 5.5 post for the full breakdown.
• Sonnet 5.5 cache reads halved (7 Oct): prompt cache reads on Sonnet 5.5 dropped from $0.20 to $0.10 per million tokens. ClaudeDevs says that makes Sonnet 5.5 about 20% cheaper on most agentic work. This is API only and doesn't change Claude Code usage limits. Release notes · Post

In the Claude apps

• Google Docs, Sheets and Slides (6 Oct): Claude works in a sidebar next to your file and edits it in place. By default it asks before each edit. The add-on is in public beta on all paid plans, and new connectors (also beta) let Claude create and edit Google files from chat. Anthropic
• Claude Dashboards and Claude Motion (8 Oct, beta): Dashboards turns connected data into live dashboards (paid plans). Motion makes short animated explainers you can download as MP4 (Team and Enterprise). Anthropic says Motion doesn't use a video generation model. Anthropic

For builders

• Managed Agents dynamic workflows (9 Oct, public beta): a lead agent writes a plan, many agents run it in phases, and the results are combined at the end. Documented limits include 64 threads working at once per run, 1,000 agents over a run's life and a 24-hour default lifetime. Post · Docs
• Agent automations guide (8 Oct): a reference build for a scheduled agent that reads Slack and GitHub, keeps memory between runs and posts a brief, with a per-run spending cap. Guide
• Claude Code Projects (9 Oct): ClaudeDevs says it let in every Pro and Max user from the waitlist. Post
• Claude Startups program (6 Oct): expanded to more founders. It offers a free year of Claude Team (up to five Premium seats), a $1,000 one-time API credit, partner offers and office hours, for startups founded in the last five years or funded in the last two. Anthropic
