Anthropic: small models may soon self-replicate on cheap smart devices
Anthropic's Frontier Red Team found models of 30B parameters or less can already do many steps of copying and running themselves on hardware like Android TV boxes, and expects them to manage the full chain within months. The post suggests defenses.
