On 22 September 2026, when GPT-6 Sol and Luna launched, Codex lead Tibo announced a banked reset for Plus, Pro and Business accounts. On 7 October, Day 3 of his 28-day series, he loaded another into every paid account, and on 8 October he confirmed it had landed across all accounts.

Limit resets in Claude

Anthropic's help center describes limit resets as resets given occasionally to eligible plans that set your limits back to full when you choose to use one. The details:

• Depending on the reset, either your five-hour session limit or your weekly limit goes back to full right away. Your weekly limit still resets on its usual day and time.
• You don't have to wait until you hit a limit, but once used it can't be undone.
• Use it in Settings > Usage on the web or in Claude Desktop with "Reset for free". The button isn't available on mobile or in Claude Code, but the refill applies there too.
• An unused reset expires at the time on the offer. If you downgrade or cancel first, it's gone.

For example, when Opus 5.5 launched on 22 September 2026, Pro, Max and Team users got a reset to use anytime. ClaudeDevs said it could be applied before 22 October.

Our reset archives label these entries Banked reset. They aren't counted as completed resets, because loading a saved reset isn't the same as refilling everyone's limits.
