Subscription or pay-as-you-go
Per Meta's subscriptions docs, a subscription is a flat monthly rate that works only in the Muse Code CLI while you're signed in with your Meta Model API account. It covers the Muse Code API key connected during onboarding. Any other API keys you create are billed pay-as-you-go per token. Meta says subscription benefits and availability may vary by region.
Pay-as-you-go prices
- muse-spark-1.3: $1.25 input, $0.15 cached input, $4.25 output per million tokens. Not used to improve Meta's products.
- muse-spark-1.3-contributor: $0.10 input, $0.002 cached input, $0.20 output. Used to improve Meta's products.
- muse-wonder-1.0: $4 input, $0.20 cached input, $20 output. Muse Wonder Full has no per-token price.
Contributor mode
In Contributor mode, you get more usage from your plan in exchange for letting Meta use your content to train future Meta models.
Contributor mode is on by default and you can turn it off at any time in Muse Code's settings. After that, Meta says your future content isn't used for training. Muse Wonder and Muse Wonder Full work in either mode on the plans that include them.
Limits, upgrades and cancelling
- If you hit your limit, upgrade to the next plan or wait for it to refresh. On Maximum Usage, waiting is the only option.
- Upgrades take effect immediately with prorated billing. Downgrades start at the next billing cycle.
- A cancelled plan stays active until the end of the cycle. Cancel at least 24 hours before your billing date. Meta gives no refunds for cancelled subscriptions unless the law requires one.
- Type /upgrade in an interactive session to open Accounts Center and manage your plan.
Questions
- Which Muse Code plan do I need for Muse Wonder Full?
- Power Usage ($50/month) or Maximum Usage ($200/month). Everyday and High Usage include Muse Wonder but not Wonder Full.
- Can I use my Muse Code subscription with other tools?
- No. Meta says the subscription works only through the Muse Code CLI. Other API keys are billed pay-as-you-go.
- What happens when I hit the limit on Maximum Usage?
- You have to wait for the limit to refresh. There's no higher plan to upgrade to.
